Does PolyOS Support Ultrasonic Pairing?

Ultrasonic pairing isn't a part of the current PolyOS API. If you plan to implement Ultrasonic pairing with technologies like chirp.io or something similar, please note the following:

  • X30/X50 Speakers are NOT designed to provide Ultrasonic support. Don’t use them to play Ultrasonic as it may cause long-term damage to the speakers.

  • Trio Series does NOT support playing Ultrasonic when in Poly Controller mode. This is an open feature request and will be implemented in future Trio SW releases.

  • TC8 DOES have an embedded Speaker. It’s designed to be used for playing Ultrasonic, which can be used for Ultrasonic pairing. Ultrasounds are in the range of 17-21 Khz.

When using more than one TC8, it's important that only one device plays ultrasonic audio for pairing. If more than one device plays ultrasonic audio for pairing at the same time, ultrasonic interference can occur.
